The Association has a specialist Rent Income team responsible for the collection of rent. In addition they can help you choose the best method of payment, advise you on any debt problems and assist you in completing claims forms if you are entitled to benefit.

WHAT THE RENT INCOME TEAM WILL DO

Your home is very important and we want to make sure that we do everything possible to ensure that you can live there as long as you want to, we will try to:

Do an assessment on your income and your ability to pay rent and the benefit options available to you, before your tenancy starts.
Offer a range of payment options that are convenient to access.
Assist you by completing the Housing Benefit/Council Tax claim form when the tenancy starts.
Check progress of your Housing Benefit claim.
Notify you in advance of any changes to your rent or service charges.
Send you quarterly rent statements.
Ensure rent statements are accurate and easy to understand.
Make realisitic, affordable repayment agreements to suit your personal circumstances, if you do fall into arrears.
Provide details of organisations that can give you impartial advice about housing and financial debt.
Offer the services of a Financial Inclusion Officer.
