WHAT IS THE FORUM?
In January 2002, following guidance set out in the Housing Corporations Regulatory Code, Cosmopolitan invited tenants to form a consultative and advisory body, representing the views and interests of the organisation's tenants.

The Forum is an 'umbrella' group representing the views and interests of all Cosmopolitan's residents and works as a consultative and advisory body. Members of the Forum have a real ability to influence and shape the policies and procedures that Cosmopolitan uses to run the Association. The Forum helps to make sure that the services provided are what residents really want.

WHAT WE DO
 In 2005 the Forum adopted their constitution, this is a formal document that states the aims and objectives of the Forum and how it will be run.
We have achieved a number of our aims already including;
  • The implementation of a new, user-friendly Complaints Procedure
  • Endorsement of a policy change for new tenants to be granted Introductory Tenancies
  • Provided membership to the 'Editorial Panel'
  • Set up a 'Repairs Review Team'
  • Help in planning the Residents Annual Conference

WHO WE ARE
The Forum as a group helps to ensure that the Association keeps a clear focus on the needs of residents and helps to improve service delivery. For the Forum to be effective and achieve our aims we need to be a strong group with representatives from all neighbourhoods in which Cosmopolitan has homes.

Our current Forum members are:

Sue Ward - Chairperson

Tim Hall-Smith - Vice Chairperson

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
Membership of the Forum is open to any resident over the age of 18. Both staff and representatives of the Forum  provide help, support and induction to new residents who wish to join. It is also an opportunity to make new friends, participate in useful training, discuss housing issues with staff and assist Cosmopolitan to make decision on behalf of residents.  Read more about us in our first edition of Forum News.

If you would like further details about the Forum and our work with Cosmopolitan please contact the Forums Vice Chair, Tim Hall Smith by e mailing TIM@cosmopolitanhousing.co.uk or write to The Tenants Forum, Cosmopolitan House, 2 Marybone, Liverpool L3 2BY.
