Get involved : Training
We are keen to encourage residents to attend training initiatives provided by ourselves and Tenant/Resident Training Organisations such as those detailed below.  We also run our own training programmes from time to time and information on these courses will also be advertised here.
 
 
LCVS will be running a number of training courses fro residents in July.  The courses are delivered by experienced LCVS advisers.  Each session is practical and interactive and give you the opportunity to learn in a relaxed atmoshpere.  For details of how to book and for details of their full training programme visit their web-site LCVS Training
 
 
 
 
is a group of representatives from 10 Registered Social
Landlords in Liverpool, of whom Cosmopolitan Housing Association is a member, who provide free training sessions for all their residents. We also give resident representatives the opportunity to attend seminars and conferences to develop their understanding of housing issues. We will pay reasonable travel expenses, child care and other care costs on production of valid receipts.

Liverpool Housing Excellency & Efficiency Group (LHEEG)
is a partnership of several Merseyside Landlords working together, combining resources and organising training for tenants.  One of the partnership's key objectives is to address issues of social exclusion by developing community activities and initiatives. 
 
Two very successful projects have been introduced through the LHEEG partnership:
 
Small Voices is an interpretation training course designed to provide an opportunity for residents to develop their language and interpretation skills, increase confidence and encourage personal development.  It is aimed at residents in the Liverpool 8 area and is intended to have meaningful impact for ethnic minority residents.
 
Chartered Institute of Housing, Level 2 Certificate is a 16 week housing programme based a Blackburn House, Liverpool.  The Level 2 Certificate is a nationally recognised qualification and covers a variety of issues including supported housing, sustainable communities, regeneration and resident involvement.  The course provides a broad overview of the sector and is particularly useful for people wanting to develop their education and seek employment into the housing sector.

Trafford Hall is the home of The National Communities Resource Centre, a registered charity.  It is the only national training centre offering low-cost residential training and support to all those living and working in low-income communities in the UK.  All the courses at Traford Hall aim to build your skills, knowledge and confidence to help you improve your neighbourhood.  You will also meet up with and learn from people living and working in other communities.
  
 
The Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) - of which we are a member on behalf of all of our residents
 
 
Blackburne House Education, through the Women's Technology and Education Centre, WTEC seeks to transform women's lives and encourage their independence through the provision of education, training and opportunities of every kind in an environment of equality and inspiration.
 
PEP is an independant "not for profit" organisation specialising in housing, regeneration and training consultancy.  They work with residents, social landlords, regeneration organisations, tenant management organisations, other service providers and with communitites as a whole.
 
 
InSTEP provides conference and training services to tenants in social housing.  InSTEP is a national service which offers a number of services to help tenants and landlords to work together, to inform and empower residents and to encourage tenant participation.
